Alison Simonelli Hider, M.S. Ed., Educational Consultant & Autism Specialist
I have been working directly and indirectly with students with autism spectrum disorders for over 12 years. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master's Degree in the Autism Spectrum Disorders Program, studying under the direction of prolific writer, researcher, and international speaker Dr. Brenda Smith Myles. My experience as an autism specialist, educational consultant, inclusion facilitator, and special education teacher has given me a unique perspective on the issues faced by those caring for and working with children on the autism spectrum. Through these experiences, I have gained knowledge about strategies and solutions to the challenges faced by parents and educators. I am committed to providing services that are based on current research and best practice. Having been an employee of both the public and private sectors, I emphasize a "team" approach to planning in order to achieve effective outcomes.
I also have experience working with children with a variety of cognitive, social, and behavioral needs. I have worked with students with Fragile X Syndrome, Smith Magenis Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Prader Willi Syndrome, Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, Selective Mutism, and a variety of other developmental disabilities.
I provide consulting services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities in and around the Saratoga Springs, NY area.
